Jeep Safaris

Half day Jeep Safari to

* Coloured Canyon

Excursions to the Coloured Canyon are among the most common from the resorts Dahab and Nuweiba. Although definitely worth the effort, the experience is more and more destroyed by the sheer crowds. It is hard to suggest a good time of the day to visit, as you really come here only as part of a group.

The Coloured canyon

The Coloured canyon has its name from the layers of bright, multicoloured stones across the steep, narrow walls. The patterns are made from a mixture of sandstone and limestone, with coloures from pink to brown and from yellow to green. The canyon is experienced by walking through it from either direction.

The program:

We start at 09:00 and drive for 2 hours to the Coloured Canyon where we will see naturally coloured rocks. We will then walk through the canyon for about 2 hours and drive for 2 hours back to Dahab, where we arrive around 3 in the afternoon.

Including: experienced guide and transportation in a landcruiser

Costs: 40 euro per person

* White Canyon and Ain Khudra Oasis

White Canyon

This site is located 700 m above sea level along the way to St. Catherine, known for it's white soft sandstone terrain. When you descend, you will find Ain Khudra Oasis where you'll observe Bedouin families living in traditional tents, following the natural water sources for their livestock.

Ain Khundra

A palm tree and desert vegetation paradise located 53 km North of Dahab. At this site you will observe the desert at it's most natural state when Mother Nature has been so kind as to bring some rain. There is natural spring which irrigates the landscape.

The program:

We start at 09:00 and drive for 1 hour to the White Canyon. You will walk through the canyon with your guide for one hour. You will arrive at Ain Khudra Oasis where you will have tea. Afterwards, we will drive back to Dahab for two hours and arrive around 2 in the afternoon.

Including: experienced guide and transportation in a landcruiser

Costs: 40 euro per person

* Salama Canyon and Melehez Oasis

Salama Canyon

This canyon is known as the small coloured canyon. The canyon is close to the St Catherine road. It is made of soft sandstone and has naturally coloured rocks. The walk through the canyon takes half an hour and is easier than the real Coloured Canyon, with less climbing and wider passageways.

Melehez Oasis

The search for water occupies the traditional nomadic Bedouin family. At this site, your guide will show you the cracks in the rock formations where either sweet or salty water flow naturally. Take your camera as the rocks have a very colorful. pinkish hue to them.

The program:

We start at 09:00 and drive for one hour to Salama Canyon. We walk through the canyon for half an hour. From here we drive 15 minutes to Melehez Hill. From here we climb down for about half an hour to the oasis, where we watch the four springs which come from one single rock - some are fresh and some our salt water springs. We then climb out of the canyon and drive back to Dahab in about one and a half hour. We arrive in Dahab around 3 pm.

* Wadi Qunai Oasis

Wadi Qunai

Wadi Qunai is located South of Dahab and consists of a small canyon with sandstone and granit.

* Sand Dune trip

Dragon Head Mountain

The mountain derives its name from its shape, as it looks like the head of a dragon. If you look closely you can even see the teeth of the dragon. This mountain is also known as ‘ the mountain with the hole’. The hole in the mountain is considered to be the eye of the dragon.

El Hedoda

El Hedoda is Sinai's highest (800 m above sea level) and most expansive areas of sand dune terrain. The name itself comes from the Bedouin word meaning "to tear down". As it is one of the naturally highly windy locations in Sinai, once there you will see for yourselves how the sand comes rolling down when the wind hits.

The program:

We start at 09:00 and drive for 2 hours to Safra Sand Dune to play and roll in the sand, before moving to Bir Safra to play in the water. From Bir Safra we will drive for about 30 minutes to Gebel Makhroum (Mountain with a Hole) and to the Hedoda Sand Dune for some breathtaking views.
