*Rainbow Canyon  & Bir El Birea Oasis

Rainbow Canyon

This large and beatutifully colouerd canyon can essily rival the famous colouerd canyon. It has more ereas with coloured rocks then the actual colouerd canyon and is a delight for nature lovers and hikers.

Bir El Birea Oasis

Bir el Birea – The Arabic word ‘Bir’ means ‘well’ and ‘Birea’ means ‘deep hole’. This area is called Bir el Birea, because it is surrounded by high mountains and has a water well.

The program:

We start at 08:00 and drive for 3 hours to the Rainbow Canyon where we will see naturally coloured rocks. We will walk to and through the canyon for about 3 hours . When we finish we will be in Bir El Birea Oasis to relax and have lunch. After lunch, we will go back to Dahab, where we arrive around 4 in the afternoon.

* Small Coloured Canyon & White Canyon

Salama Canyon

This canyon is known as the small coloured canyon. The canyon is close to the St Catherine road. It is made of soft sandstone and has naturally coloured rocks. The walk through the canyon takes half an hour and is easier than the real Coloured Canyon, with less climbing and wider passageways

White Canyon

This site is located 700 m above sea level along the way to St. Catherine, known for it's white soft sandstone terrain. When you descend, you will find Ain Khudra Oasis where you'll observe Bedouin families living in traditional tents, following the natural water sources for their livestock.

Ain Khundra

A palm tree and desert vegetation paradise located 53 km North of Dahab. At this site you will observe the desert at it's most natural state when Mother Nature has been so kind as to bring some rain. There is natural spring which irrigates the landscape.

The program:

We start at 08:00 and drive for 1 hours to the Small Coloured Canyon where we will see naturally coloured rocks. We will walk through the canyon for about 1/2 hour and drive for 1 hour through Wadi Ghazala to see the Mushroom Rock. We then drive to Ain Khudra Oasis where we will have lunch. After lunch we walk through the White Canyon with the guide. When we finish, we will go back to Dahab and arrive around 4 in the afternoon.

* Coloured Canyon & White Canyon

The Coloured canyon

The Coloured canyon has its name from the layers of bright, multicoloured stones across the steep, narrow walls. The patterns are made from a mixture of sandstone and limestone, with coloures from pink to brown and from yellow to green. The canyon is experienced by walking through it from either direction.

White Canyon

* Sand Dune trip

Double Canyon (Small Arada Canyon)

The area gets its name from the Arada plant, a Bedouin medicinal herb thought to cure athsma, which in the Sinai, appears only here. Upon closer inspection, you'll find that the plant's leaves change color during the summer to a shade of blue.

Dragon Head Mountain

The mountain derives its name from its shape, as it looks like the head of a dragon. If you look closely you can even see the teeth of the dragon. This mountain is also known as ‘ the mountain with the hole’. The hole in the mountain is considered to be the eye of the dragon.

El Hedoda

El Hedoda is Sinai's highest (800 m above sea level) and most expansive areas of sand dune terrain. The name itself comes from the Bedouin word meaning "to tear down". As it is one of the naturally highly windy locations in Sinai, once there you will see for yourselves how the sand comes rolling down when the wind hits.

The program:

We start at 08:00 and drive for 2 hours to the Arada Canyon. We will walk through the canyon with our guide before eating lunch at one of the Bedouin houses in the area. We will then drive to Safra Sand Dune to play and roll in the sand, before moving to Bir Safra to play in the water. From Bir Safra we will drive for about 30 minutes to Gebel Makhroum (Mountain with a Hole) and to the Hedoda Sand Dune for some breathtaking views. We will arrive back in Dahab around 5 in the afternoon.

* Super Safari White Canyon tour

Saint Catherine's Monastery

The monastery is Greek Orthodox and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to the UNESCO report (60100 ha / Ref: 954) and website hereunder, this monastery has been called the oldest working Christian monastery in the world – although the Monastery of Saint Anthony, situated across the Red Sea in the desert south of Cairo, also holds claim to that title. The monastery was built by order of Emperor Justinian I between 527 and 565, enclosing the Chapel of the Burning Bush ordered to be built by Helena, the mother of Constantine I, at the site where Moses is supposed to have seen the burning bush; the living bush on the grounds is purportedly the original. It is also referred to as "St. Helen's Chapel." The site is sacred to Judaism,Christianity and Islam.

White Canyon

Ain Khundra

A palm tree and desert vegetation paradise located 53 km North of Dahab. At this site you will observe the desert at it's most natural state when Mother Nature has been so kind as to bring some rain. There is natural spring which irrigates the landscape.

The program:

Starting at 7 in the morning and drive for about two hours to visit St. Catherine's Monastery. After this we will continue for another one and a half hour to the White Canyon. You walk through the canyon for one hour with your guide. You will finish your hike in Ain Khudra Oasis. Here you will have lunch and relax. Then we drive to visit the Mushroom Rock before going back to Dahab around 5 in the afternoon.

* Salama Canyon & Closed Canyon

Salama Canyon

Melehez Oasis

The search for water occupies the traditional nomadic Bedouin family. At this site, your guide will show you the cracks in the rock formations where either sweet or salty water flow naturally. Take your camera as the rocks have a very colorful. pinkish hue to them.

Closed Canyon

This excursion is best for the limber rock climbing enthusiast. (Larger folks or claustophobics would definitely be uncomfortable due to the tight spaces one must climb through). If you are up for a bit of climbing in addition to the camel ride, this is an optimal choice.

The program:

We start at 8 in the morning and drive for one and a half hours to visit Salam Canyon for about half an hour. We then drive for 15 minutes to Melehiz Hill, where you climb down to Melehez Oasis to see the four springs coming from the same rock - some of the springs contain fresh water and some contain salt water. We then climb up again to take the car and drive for one and a half hour to the Mushroom Rock. From here we drive for 10 minutes to the Closed Canyon. We walk through the canyon in one hour and return back to Dahab around 5 in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided along the way.

Nawmis

Nawamis are tombs located in the Sinai desert. They are circular stone structures. The dating of bones found in the tombs is from 4000 – 3150 BCE.Nawamis are constructed of sandstone, about 2 to 2.5 m (6.6 to 8.2 ft) high and 3 to 6 m (10 to 20 ft) in diameter, and have openings facing West. Some authorities believe that the stone structures are younger than the remains found therein

Gebel el Matamar tour

This site exhibits special wind-blown desert rock formations made over the course of time.

The program:

We start at 8 in the morning and drive for about one hour to visit Nawamis, an ancient Nabatean cemetery, older than the Gizeh pyramids. We then drive for 5 minutes to Gebel el Matamar, where we climb and enjoy the view from the top of the mountain. We will then have lunch and relax. Afterwards we drive for 40 minutes Gebel Makhroum (Mountain with a Hole), afterwards we drive for 5 minutes to Hedoda Sand Dune for a spectacular view of the desert landscape. We return to Dahab around 5 in the afternoon.
