The program: Day 1 - Cairo: Arrival in Cairo and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free. Possibilities to visit Islamic Cairo, Khan el Khalili market, The Citadel or some Nile cruises. Day 2 - Cairo: Today we visit the Egyptian Museum, with its more than 100,000 relics. Your guide will be with you for two or three hours, after which you are free to roam the museum yourself. The evening is free. Possibilities to visist the Sufi dancers at the Citadel. Day 3 - Cairo: Today we visit the Pyramids and the Sphinx at Giza. You can travel by horse to the Plateau and feel like you've been transported back in time. Your guide can assist in arranging this on arrival at the Pyramids. Later on we will visit Saqqara and the the funerary comples of Zoser. We will also see the Pyramid of Teti. Day 4 - Cairo: A free day in Cairo. In the evening we will board our first class train to Aswan. Day 5 - Aswan: Arrival in Aswan in the early morning. Later in the day we will visit the Obelisk, Philae Temple, the temple complex of Isis and the High Dam of Aswan. The evening is free. Day 6 - Abu Simbel: After an early morning bus or flight (optional) we will visit the majestic Abu Simbel, built by Ramses II and the Temple of Hathor. We then return to Aswan in the early afternoon. We can spend the afternoon wandering the souqs or visiting the Nubian Museum (optional). Day 7 - Aswan: This morning, we will board our local felucca to visit Kitchener and Elephantine Islands. In the afternoon we will begin our two night cruise down the Nile on board the felucca (or Nile cruiser - optional). We spend the afternoon lying in the sun before the chef prepares dinner. Day 8 - Felucca: The day is free to lie in the sun. We will spend the night near the sight of Kom Ombo, on board the felucca. Day 9 - Felucca: Early morning visit to Kom Ombo, the dual temple of Sobek and Haroeris. We then visit Edfu to see the Temple of Horus. After that, we travel to Luxor. In the afternoon we will visit the East Bank and see Luxor Temple built by Amenhotep III and Karnak Temple. Day 10 - Luxor: Today we visit the West Bank, Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens. We will have the opportunity to visit 5 tombs with our guide or you are free to choose yourself. We may also visit the tombs of Tutankhamum or Nefertari (optional). We can also visit the Colossie of Memnon and the Temple of Hatshepsut. Day 11 - Luxor: The morning is free to lie by the pool or discover Luxor. In the afternoon we take the overnight bus to Dahab. Day 12 - Dahab: Early morning arrival in Dahab. We relax and enjoy our day before an afternoon nap to prepare for our trip to Mount Sinai. We will leave the hotel at 11 in the evening, climb 2285 meters to the summit and wait for a magnificent sunrise. Day 13 - Dahab: After we've seen the sunrise, we climb down the mountain and visit the Monastery of St. Catherine, dedicated to the legendary martyr of Alexandria. We return to Dahab for a well earned rest. The rest of the day is free. Day 14 - Dahab: Today we go to for a snorkeling and sunbathing trip to the famous Blue Hole. Day 15 - Dahab: The day is free to lie by the pool to relax. In the evening we will transfer to the bus for the overnight journey to the city of Alexandria. Day 16 - Alexandria: Arrival in Alexandria in the early morning. We will have time to rest before we see the sight of Cleopatra's Palace and the Montazah Palace Gardens, built as a summer resort for Khedive Abbas Hilmy. Day 17 - Cairo: The morning is free to explore Alexandria. Transfer back to Cairo in the afternoon for your last night and some last minute shopping at Khan el Khalili. Day 18 - Cairo: Transfer to the airport for our onward journey.
